WW1 Film Project

Following the success of the WW1 Film Project, the WW1 Literacy Project is now available to schools to register their interest.

Find out about the WW1 Literacy Project

The WW1 Film Project utilised mobile learning technology to research, capture and showcase stories to engage learners with the heritage of WW1 in their area. The project was delivered in individual schools, and culminated in a collaborative showcase and awards event.

By discovering what impact WW1 had on life for children in the area, and the long term impact it had on the area as a whole, children developed a better understanding of the importance of the First World War heritage across the community.

Using iPads effectively, children conducted interviews; gathered and collated research; and produced high quality films showcasing their knowledge.

The films were showcased at an awards event at Wakefield Cathedral, not only to celebrate the achievements of the children involved, but to also engage a wider audience with the heritage of the First World War in the area.

The project was supported by Wakefield Libraries and Museum, and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund

Home of the #ipadband

Our Strike A Chord programme is open to schools, music hubs, RTCs and organisations that want to engage learners with music education in an innovative way.

The iPad band we create with you is unique, and meets your needs and those of your learners.

Led by the concept creator of #ipadband David Kirtlan, we are the original creators of iPad bands. We have been creating  iPad bands since 2010, of all shapes and sizes, abilities and in a huge range of different settings.

You may have seen one of our showcase #ipadband at the BETT Show, or our latest large scale project with the North Tyneside Learning Trust which engaged over 250 pupils.

If you’ve never discovered iPad Bands before, let us show you more….
