As conference veterans, we know a thing or two about getting the most from them, so here’s our guide to getting the most out of your visit to the BETT Show 2019! Enjoy!
Plan! You may think you have all the time you need to visit everything you want to see, but trust us, you don’t. There are so many inspirational people, new developments and great innovative ideas to see and experience, that you get so engrossed at your first point of call, before you know it, you’ve missed two great speakers!
Use social media. The hashtag #BETT2019 is really useful. You can see what’s coming up, what people are saying about products, and generally get a feel for what the best things to see are. If you speak to someone, or see something, that is great, let others know!
Have regular breaks and take notes. It’s so easy to get caught up in everything that’s going on, that you forget about the things you came to see, and forget the things you have seen. Take a break every now and then to check the schedule, and make notes about what you’ve seen. If you find you’ve got a question after you’ve made your notes, don’t be afraid to go back to the stand and ask it. It’s easier to ask on the day, than a few days later.
Make use of the speaker sessions on the exhibitor stands and don’t be afraid to ask questions. There are fantastic ideas being used in schools everyday that we can all learn from. Some of the exhibitors will have their own guest speakers, who are there to provide real life examples of how they use the services of the exhibitor. They can give a real insight into what works (and what doesn’t!). They’re not sales people and so can give honest answers. Go and see the speaker sessions and find out just what works in schools, and why. When the speaker has finished don’t be afraid to ask them questions. The BETT Show is about education, and everyone is there to share ideas, and the guest speakers will always be happy to chat with you. Our own David Kirtlan will be a guest of Albion Computers, stand C270, and will have something great to share with you! Feel free to pop by for a chat with him.
